Packaging Print Estimator / Inside Sales

Keepsake Products USA – Carlstadt, NJ

Keepsake Products USA is seeking an Estimator / Inside Sales professional to join our custom packaging team.

We specialize in short-run custom packaging, including rigid gift boxes, corrugated packaging, presentation boxes, inserts, and specialty packaging. Our customers are primarily promotional products distributors who often rely on us to help determine the best way to design, size, decorate, and produce their packaging.

This is a hands-on estimating role with direct customer interaction. The right candidate will combine strong estimating skills with the ability to help customers develop practical packaging solutions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates and quotations for rigid boxes, corrugated packaging, inserts, printed components, and related products.
• Review customer specifications, artwork, product dimensions, quantities, and project requirements.
• Determine appropriate materials, manufacturing methods, printing processes, finishing, and outside services.
• Calculate material, labor, machine time, waste, outsourced costs, and other production costs.
• Work directly with customers to clarify specifications and recommend appropriate packaging solutions.
• Help determine box sizes, insert styles, substrates, printing methods, and decorative finishes.
• Provide alternative constructions or pricing options when needed to meet customer budgets.
• Follow up on quotations and help move projects from estimating into production.
• Work closely with customer service, structural design, prepress, purchasing, and production.
• Identify potential manufacturing issues before jobs reach production.

Qualifications

Commercial print estimating experience is highly desirable.

Candidates with experience estimating commercial printing, wide format, folding cartons, corrugated packaging, displays, or other manufactured print products should transition well into this position.

A strong print estimator already understands many of the fundamentals required for Keepsake estimating, including:

• Paper and substrate utilization
• Printing and finishing processes
• Setup and makeready costs
• Labor and machine-hour calculations
• Die cutting, mounting, laminating, and finishing
• Waste, yield, and quantity efficiencies
• Outside vendor pricing
• Reading specifications and identifying missing information

Rigid box experience is helpful but not required. We can teach the packaging-specific aspects of the position to someone with a strong print or manufacturing estimating background.

The ideal candidate will also have strong math and analytical skills, attention to detail, good computer skills, and the ability to communicate confidently with customers.
